On Monday, February 8, more than 1.3 billion people will celebrate Chinese New Year. Not only will those across Mainland China celebrate, but the many Chinese living across Australia/Oceana, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America will also seek to spend the holiday with family. Whether by traveling to celebrate in person or by connecting electronically, Chinese families will seek to be reunited. What a great time to pray for God’s blessing on China and for the gospel to go forward in the year of the monkey!
How to pray:
– Pray for physical safety for the many people traveling to see family.
– Pray for those who are unable to return home. Pray for the church to be a family for those without family, especially the elderly who are alone and the migrant population.
– Pray for Christians spending time with family members who do not believe. Pray for peace within families divided and pray for Christians to witness to transformed lives.
– Pray for joy amidst the celebrations. Pray that God will bless this holiday and bring glory to himself through it.
