Deeper & Wider Ministry
In 2021, our two overarching prayers are for ministry in China to go deeper and wider. If the gospel is going to continue taking root in China, then both are crucial. Here is a brief introduction to these two overarching prayers.
Deeper Ministry
Our first over-arching prayer for 2021 and beyond is that ministry in China would go deeper. At the core of this hope is the centrality of the gospel of Christ. After all, apart from the gospel, the ministry of the church is pointless!
Thus, we pray that the gospel may be pressed deeper into the hearts of church members and church leaders, that in every way they will know and love Jesus Christ and his work more and more. We pray that this too will lead to increased depth: greater discipleship, deeper theological education, women’s ministry, and prayer ministry.
Wider Ministry
Our second over-arching prayer for 2021 and beyond is that ministry in China would go wider. We believe that wider ministry flows naturally from deeper ministry: after all, deep roots lead to great fruit.
As churches and church leaders grow deeper in the gospel, our prayer is that the gospel would spread throughout China. With one billion people in China who still do not have a relationship with Christ, our prayer is that there would be more evangelism, more church planting, more leaders, and more partners raised up.
